ACCERELATED LEARNING THROUGH THE MIND MAPPING

This strategy is to maximize the brain, someone should not say: I cannot do something but he/she should say: I have yet developed that skill.
The learning process can be boosted successfully so long as the limbic system plays a greater role in language acquisition.
Enjoyment, role playing, collaboration and games are important elements in learning because they involve positive emotions.

Our brain can be divided into three kinds of brain:
1.      The Reptilian that controls many basic functions
2.      The Mammalian Brain that helps to maintains “homeostasis, a stable environment in the body”
3.      The Thinking Brain, it is extraordinary and the seat of intelligence, distinguishing human from animal. Their tasks are seeing, hearing, creating, thinking, and talking.
Our brain also can be divided into two:
1.      Left brain: academic aspects of learning
2.      Right brain hemisphere: creative activities utilizing rhyme, rhythm, music, visual impression, color for analogies and pattern.

Understanding human brains and their structural parts are significant for improving learning strategy. By understanding the brain structures, it is highly likely that a professional teacher may be able to develop the (language) teaching strategy.

Why the mind map strategy
1.      The standard notes obscure the key words
2.      They make it difficult to remember
3.      Standard note-making/taking system waste time at all stages
4.      Standard notes fail to stimulate the brain creativity.

The mind map is an expression of radiant thinking and is therefore a natural function of the human mind. And has 4 essentials characteristics: (Buzan)
  1. The subject of attention is crystallize in a central
  2. The main themes of the subject radiate from the central image as branch.
  3. Branches comprise a key image or key word printed on an associated line
  4. The branches form a connected nodal structure.
